Couple Gallery (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates couplegallery.in — a wedding photography discovery and booking platform connecting couples with professional photographers and vendors across India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

From Couples & Visitors

• Inquiry form: Name, email address, phone number, event date, service type, and message when you contact a photographer.
• Contact form: Name, email, subject, and message when you write to us.
• Genie / Planning requests: Name, email, phone, budget, and message.
• Venue & booking inquiries: Name, email, venue interest or city, and message.
• Wedding checklist: An anonymous session key stored in your browser. We do not link checklist data to your identity.

From Photographers & Vendors

• Studio name, contact email, phone number, city/location.
• Portfolio images, service descriptions, pricing packages, FAQs.
• Social profile links (Instagram, Facebook, Behance).
• Account credentials (email address; password stored as a secure, one-way hash — we never store your plain-text password).
• For paid plans: the plan chosen, amount, and the UPI transaction reference you submit so we can verify the payment. We do not receive or store your bank or card details.
• Publicly available information about your studio (such as your Google Business listing, website and public social profiles), which we may look up to help complete your profile. Nothing found this way is added to your profile without review.

Automatically Collected (Usage & Analytics)

To understand how the platform is used and to tell photographers how much interest their profile receives, we record the following when you browse the site. We run this ourselves on our own servers:

• Pages and actions: the pages you open and the buttons you tap on a photographer’s profile (WhatsApp, call, email, social links, share, inquiry).
• IP address and approximate location: your IP address, and the city and state it roughly corresponds to. We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
• Device details: device type, browser and operating system.
• How you reached us: the referring website or campaign (for example Google or Instagram).
• A random visitor ID stored in your browser so that repeat visits are counted as one person. It does not contain your name.
• If you submit an inquiry or are logged in, your name and contact details may be linked to your visits so we can follow up on your request.

• Browser session tokens stored in localStorage (used only to keep you logged in).
• Uploaded images saved on our server under your photographer account.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To connect couples with photographers — inquiry details are forwarded to the relevant photographer via email/WhatsApp alert.
• To operate your vendor account — manage your public profile, portfolio, and incoming leads.
• To respond to support requests — messages sent via our contact form.
• To improve our platform and report to photographers — we use usage data to see what is working, and we share summary figures with each photographer about their own profile (number of views and contacts, and the cities visitors came from). Photographers are not shown visitors’ IP addresses.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

3. Data Sharing

When you submit a photographer inquiry, your name, phone, email, event date, and service type are shared with that specific photographer so they can respond to you. Apart from that and the service providers listed in section 6, we do not share your personal information with anyone without your consent.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on our secure servers in India.
• Vendor passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never readable by anyone, including our team.
• Uploaded images are stored on our server and accessible only through your vendor account or public profile.
• We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required by applicable law.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) for two things:

• Login tokens — keep you logged in to your account and are cleared when you log out.
• A random visitor ID (and, after you send an inquiry, the name and contact details you entered) — so repeat visits are recognised. You can remove these at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
• Neither is shared with advertising networks.

6. Third-Party Services

• Instagram: Photographer profile pages may link to external Instagram profiles. Clicking these links is governed by Instagram’s own privacy policy.
• WhatsApp: Inquiry alerts may be sent via WhatsApp to photographers. WhatsApp’s privacy policy governs that communication.
• IP location lookup: to convert an IP address into an approximate city and state, the IP address is sent to an IP-geolocation provider (such as ipinfo.io). No name or contact details are sent.
• Google and AI services: to look up publicly available information about photographer studios, the studio’s name and public business details may be sent to Google and to an AI service provider.
• We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers, and we do not sell usage data.

7. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Vendors can update their profile information directly via the Vendor Dashboard at any time.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
• Withdrawal of consent: You may stop using the platform at any time.

8. Children’s Privacy

Couple Gallery is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
